... this evening my last days in Azeroth for at least a season if not more. After having penetrated the Icecrown Citadel it was apparent to me the war could finally continue without my direct involvement. These last days have been spent adventuring into dungeons with countless soulless former heroes seeking gold and fame. Having acquired both it is now time for me to rest. I am due for a holiday and I just might not come back. I intend to travel to the distance east, to see the chocolate hills and golden beaches once more. I must prepare for this adventure, find sleep for my bones and rest for my mind.
As this is a time for reflection I will do just that. I am reminded of fellow heroes near and distance, I am reminded of Thrant, Corynn, The Knights of Polaris, suitors too many to count and of course Dreyas, poor dear Dreyas. Above all I am reminded of my closest friend, Dieteus. From the days of our infancy to rising among the ranks of our great cause we formed a bond, a true Alliance.
Much has changed. I even hear Lakeshire has been quiet since the end of the town raiders. I could not bear to visit these wombs of our existence, the birth places of our alliance. Your tales of your visits have haunted me. As peace and quiet is enjoyed I realize our purpose has been served our camaraderie no longer required.
I know when the war is finally over I will be able to visit once again. But now I need distance. The Lich King will be brought down and the world will finally enjoy peace. This is the war that will end all wars. We will visit these places not as warriors but citizens of a free Azeroth.
Far thee well my dear friend. May we ride once more across the green hills of Elwynn, drink imported rum at the port of Booty Bay and once more be fearful of Deadwind Pass.
